Jack O'Keeffe 1990-2008 ....




The members of Munster Kart club would like to extend their sympathies to the parents and brother of the late Jack O Keeffe who sadly passed away in the early hours of last Sunday 21/12.

Jack was a member of the club for the last 2 years and was a regular competitor in the Rotax Max class. Jack will be sadly missed by all in the Karting family and especially by his fellow max competitors. Jack was a highly respected competitor and a true sportsman. His passion and commitment to motorsport knew no bounds and it would be true to say he lived for his Karting.

May he rest in peace.

Conculsion of 2008 Championship ....




The 2008 Motorsport Ireland Championship concluded last weekend in Kiltorcan , Ballyhale Co.Kilkenny with the final round of the Irish Karting Club Championship . With many of the championships down to the wire , officials were extra vigilant and the racing standard for the weekend was on a whole very good . The 2008 champions were decided and are listed below - Congratulations from all at MunsterKarting.com . As the thoughts focus on the 2009 season , the John Brennan Memorial Meeting in aid of Leukaemia Research will take place on the 15th November 2008 at Kiltorcan Raceway County Kilkenny and is always a popular one amongst Irish Karters. The format for the meeting will be endurance races for each class, (all technical regulations to be complied with).

Final Munster Kart Club Round ....




The Munster Kart club conculded its club championship last week end at Kartworld Watergrasshill . Although the weather was terrible for the weekend , racing passed off largely without incident .

The Cadet final was the first off with a narrow victory for northern visitor Scott Finlay in a very compeditive final which saw the lead swap several times before Finlay was able to finally pull out just enough of a gap to clinch the victory .

A collision at the start of the Mini Max final saw both first and second Mark Keane and Michael Boland lose an established lead , however a spirited fightback by both meant they finished 4th and 2nd respectively with the fastest lap going to Boland and the win going to All-Ireland Champion Ronan Shaw .

A popular local victory for Robert O Keeffe in KF3 who reveled in the terrible condtions beating the double heat winner Joel Richardson on the Birel chassis , Niall Murray was 3rd .
